A+ Rewards program changes
We are constantly striving to improve our frequent flier program, and as such, are pleased to announce the following changes to your benefits.
Effective immediately
- New! Reduced Elite qualification levels – A+ Rewards members who earn 10 or more A+ flight credits within any 90-day period or earn 25 A+ flight credits in any 365-day period, will now be qualified for A+ Rewards Elite membership.
- Complimentary upgrades to Elite members will be available at the gate 40 minutes prior to departure, and based on availability.
- Elite members on stand-by for an earlier or later flight will have a higher priority level.
- Dedicated Elite call-in line for quicker customer service.
- Once a member earns Elite status, the member will be required to fly at least 12 one-way, A+ credit-earning flights in the 365 days prior to the member’s Elite expiration date to renew the Elite status for another year.
- A+ Rewards Elite members will enjoy the same benefits as EarlyReturns Summit members when flying on our partner Frontier Airlines. That means, A+ Elites are now eligible to receive free inflight cocktails, exemption from redemption fees, and exemption from change fees when traveling on Frontier Airlines.
Effective February 1, 2009, for all A+ Rewards members
When redeeming A+ Rewards credits for travel, the member must complete a booking upon redemption. Vouchers will no longer be issued, unless the member is prepared to make a redemption booking.
FAQ
How does the Elite Business Class upgrade process work?
No earlier than 40 minutes prior to your departure time, please approach the gate agent of your flight to request an upgrade. If seats are available, then the gate agent will upgrade you and up to one extra passenger on the same reservation to Business Class. As our gate agents have many other duties, please do not approach them until at least 40 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.
What if I am traveling with more than one passenger on the same reservation?
We will only allow the Elite member and up to one additional passenger on the same reservation to upgrade for free. Any additional passengers who wish to upgrade will have to purchase an upgrade at the gate.
Can I ask for a Business Class upgrade during boarding if I am not there 40 minutes prior to my scheduled departure time?
Yes, you may ask the gate agent at anytime during the boarding process for an upgrade. However, please allow the gate agent to board the rest of the passengers first.
How will the gate agent know I am an Elite member?
Please show either your boarding pass or A+ Rewards Elite card to the gate agent. The gate agent will verify that you are an Elite member in good standing.
Will my existing A+ flight vouchers expire on February 1, 2009, as well?
No, any vouchers created prior to that date will still be honored. After February 1, 2009, no new vouchers will be created. Please remember, A+ credits may be extended for a fee and Elite and A+ Visa card holders have a two-year expiration on all A+ credits.
Do I need a voucher to redeem A+ credits for reward travel?
As of February 1, 2009, vouchers will no longer be issued. You must book your award travel before your A+ credits expire. If you still have previous vouchers available, these vouchers will be honored and you can redeem them for travel online.
What will happen if I cannot book travel within the first year the first A+ credit was posted?
A+ credits will begin to expire from your account. You can extend your A+ credits for 1 year for a fee of $29 per A+ credit (tax and service fees may apply). Once an A+ credit has expired, it cannot be reinstated or extended.
What if I have an A+ credit expiring, however I do not have enough A+ credits available at that time for a reward?
You can extend your A+ credits for a fee of $29 per A+ credit or purchase additional A+ credits for a fee of $39 per A+ credit. You can also Transfer your A+ credits to another member for $19 per A+ credit. Tax and service fees may apply. You can also donate your A+ credits before they expire to Make-A-Wish or the Military.
What if I need to cancel a reservation that was booked without a voucher?
You may cancel your reservation for a $75 fee and the A+ credits used towards your reservation will be returned to your A+ Rewards account. Please keep in mind if an A+ credit has expired since you booked your reservation that A+ credit will have an expired status and will not be returned to your account.
*Reduced Elite qualification levels effective 4/22/09. A+ flight credits are earned when traveling on paid reservations. Flight credits are not awarded for reward travel.
